Are You an Entrepreneur?

Whenever I meet people who have turned their passion into their career I’m immediately struck by their bravery, commitment and drive. It is these people that fuel our local and global economy and embody the message that anything is possible if you dedicate yourself fully. Often they are ordinary people, who have taken a risk to fill a need, make a difference, and become the best. These people are called entrepreneurs.

What Does it Mean?

In my opinion the best definition of entrepreneur comes from dictionary.com.

Entrepreneur: a person who organizes and manages any enterprise, especially a business, usually with considerable initiative and risk.

I like this definition because it doesn’t limit the title to finance, corporations or some ground breaking new invention. It says, “any enterprise”, because a person committed to make a difference will do whatever is necessary to fill a need they see.

The Entrepreneurial Style of Massage Therapists

Most people don’t think of massage therapists as entrepreneurs, but when you are surrounded by the exceptional students at Aspen Massage Institute you will find this word is the most fitting. Many of our students are taking great risks to step out and follow their dreams. They are investing in their future and the future of their families as well as finding a way to help people. They are boldly taking steps that others might say are too risky, but they are brave enough to forge ahead.

Bravery and Initiative Equals Success

Their bravery is astounding. Many massage students are working and taking classes or taking care of their families while enrolled in the program. Some are frustrated by being employees at dead-end jobs and know they can give more, but they have all taken the initiative to do something to better themselves and the world around them. They will do whatever it takes. That means getting up early or staying up late to study and working hard to reach their goals. This drive is the truest essence of a successful person in any enterprise, and our students and graduates are shining examples.
