Now is the Perfect Time!
A Career Change to Massage Therapy Could Be What You Need!
Aspen Massage Institute (AMI) offers full career counseling to assist program graduates in realizing their career objectives. The American Massage Therapy Association’s research indicates that Massage Therapy is a $12.1 billion dollar industry in America as of 2015, compared to the $6 billion estimate ten years earlier in 2005! This means that the tremendous growth and potential of the sector makes it ripe with opportunity for program graduates looking for a new career or supplemental income. Surveys indicate that roughly 25% of American adults have had a massage at least once in their life, and the versatility and broad range of training gained in the AMI Certified Massage Therapist program will empower students to help increase those percentages by giving them a wide variety of skill sets.Students enrolled in the program will receive training in Swedish Massage Fundamentals, including how to accommodate clients of all different health/body considerations, in addition to learning how to foster trust with client-focused care.
Lessons on anatomy science and pathology instill body awareness and in-depth knowledge that is crucial for massage therapy, and instruction on modern hydrotherapy, spa fundamentals, sports fundamentals, and neuromuscular therapy create solid building blocks for students on their path to mastering a broad range of massage therapy considerations.
Classes on ethics and business practices prepare program graduates for breaking out on their own, carving a place for themselves in the industry as entrepreneurs and business owners – including not only licensing and certification requirements, but resume writing, confidentiality, self-promotion, and trust-building with clients.
The Aspen Massage Institute’s Certified Massage Therapist program also includes certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid through the National Safety Council. Students will also complete 142 hours of a clinical internship, which provides hands-on experience working with public clientele. Professional massage therapists often work in a client’s home (45% of the time), a personal office (38%), their private home (32%), or at a spa or salon (26%). AMI is committed to providing students with experience and training that can be applied to any of these, or other locations!
