It is Time for a Career You Love

Massage Therapists give a healing touch to athletes.
The holidays are great for spending time with family, friends and getting to know new people. Unfortunately, for many people they are also a reminder of increasing bills, drudging workloads, and uninspiring jobs. There are two very important reasons we enjoy working at the Aspen Massage Institute, we love what we do and we want to share it with the world!

Look Forward to Coming to Work

The United States Department of Labor has identified Massage Therapy as a growing field that is becoming increasing popular and in demand. In 2012, the average income was $35,970 per year or roughly $17.29 per hour, with the top 10% making over $70,000 per year. In the past 2 years the industry has grown exponentially and the need for those licensed in massage therapy continues to grow.

More than Just a Job, it’s a Profession

One of the main components not fully mentioned in the Bureau of Labor Statistics report is that income varies widely by location, spa and knowledge. Like any business professional, massage therapists have the capability of controlling their own destiny by learning the skills and the ability to market themselves. Successful therapists also enjoy the ability to set their own hours and schedules making this burdening industry alive with opportunity.

How Much Does Massage Certification Cost

Many schools offer as little as 500 hours of education and don’t touch any subjects that help students be successful. Other programs may have as many as 1000 hours, but often time is spent sitting and listening rather than learning by doing.  Tuition in these programs can range from $6,000 – $20,000, and while most students are able to pass their certification exams, many lack the other necessary skills to achieve the level of success they want.

AMI excels over other Massage Schools

Massage Certification Students learn the intricacies of the human body. The Aspen Massage Institute offers a 600 hour, 8 month program that allows students to learn all the techniques they need to become certified massage therapists. In addition, students are trained in business practices that allow them to successfully market themselves and determine how much or how little they want to work. The classroom is based on hands-on experience, local events, and excellent instruction to help them learn from experience from some of the best hands in the industry. Nestled in Aspen, Colorado, they are surrounded by successful and driven professionals from all industries and the opportunities to network and continually learn are unending. Not to mention the advantage of living in one of the most beautiful places in Colorado.
