Reap the Benefits of the Aspen Massage Institute

Our program is structured to provide our students much more than just book learning. In fact one of the key components our students’ growth is literally hands-on training. As they progress they often work on each other but as they learn we also offer student massages for the great people of Aspen. The rates are lower and you get to spend an hour being pampered. Truly a win-win. The best way to find out when they are is to Like us on Facebook and watch our posts.

Never Had a Massage?

That’s ok, but you have no idea what you are missing. Massage therapy is well known for stress relief, helping sore muscles and providing a great sense of relaxation. Here are a few answers to the most common questions.

Do I have to get naked?

No you don’t. We want you to be comfortable. If the therapist finds an article of clothing that prohibits what they are doing they may ask you to slide it down out of the way. Once you are comfortable with getting massages you will probably find it is more comfortable without any clothing, but you are always covered in a discrete manner.

Does it hurt?

The intensity of the therapist is also up to you. Some people love soft and gentle massages while others prefer deep tissue treatments to relieve sore muscles and knots. Talk to your therapist before you begin so they can understand what you need. You also can direct them during the massage.

Do I need to do anything to prepare for a massage?

We also recommend being fully hydrated as we will work on muscles which often times releases trapped toxins. Hydration helps move these out of your system. In addition we recommend a light meal a few hours before your appointment. You don’t want to be full, but an empty stomach is not recommended either.

What should I do after my massage?

First and foremost drink plenty of water. You need to stay hydrated to allow your muscles to recover and to move toxins out of your body. You should also pay close attention to your body. Deep tissue treatments can leave you a little sore, but is you stretch and take it easy afterwards the effects are lessened. The best choice is to take it easy and relax in the afterglow of a wonderful massage.

Feeling Good and Helping Others

I will have to admit after getting your first massage you most likely will be hooked. It is one of the best feelings in the world. In fact, some people decide afterwards that they would love to learn how to do it themselves. One of the greatest benefits of being a massage therapist is being able to help people feel better. If you’re curious feel free to visit our website: aspenmassageinstitute.com. Until then, we look forward to talking to you after your first massage.
